ROAD TRIPPIN' Pt.1
In April we took a road trip up from Melbourne to Byron and more. We went to Byron Bay for the Blues and Roots music festival. It was amazing the road trip in itself was insane even though we were spending over 12 hours in a car, it didn’t matter because the landscape kept changing. Australia’s amazing like that you go from dessert to huge lakes and forest in 2 hours and then you end up at the sea! It took us two days to get to Byron we left at 5am and got to Newcastle at about 9pm.
We left Newcastle at about 6am, that drive was beautiful it was tropical and lush and it didn’t matter that we got stuck in hours of traffic; there was an amazing vibe among the drivers on the road, no road rage or anger. The only time being stuck did matter is when Amy needed the toilet urgently and we were in the middle of nowhere and she literally could not move.
It got really hot & sweaty that second day and we were all stuffed in a packed car but it didn’t matter, we were too excited and we had also made great mix CDs to get us through the days. Im sure Alex was not too impressed by our girly sing alongs but that’s what you get when you commit to a road trip with three girls!
We finally got to Byron Bay and it was packed and amazing, and happy and just had the best feeling! We got to our campsite and I saw the biggest mosquitos on earth, seriously they were fucking prehistoric! We made dinner by torch and candle light on our tiny gas stoves, we drank red wine laughed about how ridiculous each of us are and talked about the acts we were going to see the next day at the festival......
